101724 (RFQ) JEA 3CC-9M Battery Banks and Racks

JEA is in need of 6 new 200AH 3CC-9M battery banks and racks over the course of the next few months. 

The quote must include the following:
• 6x 60 Cell 3CC-9M Batteries – Must be Enersys batteries. No substitutions at this time.
• 6x 2 tier battery rack of appropriate size for 20 jars.
• Removal, recycling, and harvesting of existing batteries and rack(s).
• Installation of replacement battery string(s) and rack(s), including inter-rack cables and lugs if needed.
• Testing of completed installation shall include battery internal resistance values, individual cell voltages, overall bank voltage, battery charging current, and test for unintentional grounds.
• Test report e-mailed to JEA substation engineer within 15 days after final installation.
• Total cost to reflect recycling credit per battery bank if applicable.

1410365046 (RFQ) NGS BIEB Unit 2 UPS Replacement

Request electrical contractor to provide labor, equipment and materials to replace Northside BIEB Unit 2 UPS battery charger, remote manual bypass switch, inverter, and required cables/connectors. Major components are on order from Ametek. Work will be accomplished during Oct 2021 outage. This PO will need to be issued in FY 21, but work will not start until FY 22 and no invoicing is expected until FY 22.

1410360248 (RFQ) BC08 & BC09 DISCHARGE CHUTE FABRICATION

The chute work from the head end of BC-08 and BC-09 belt conveyors to the tail end of BC-10
and BC-11 belt conveyors, located in transfer Building 6, are constructed of a 10mm AR400 wear liner
and a 6mm outside shell. These chutes have been failing due to wear and corrosion. This project will
fabricate the chutes from the head of BC-08 and BC-09 to the tail of BC-10 and BC-11. The
fabrications shall use a single ½” thickness through hardened plate. In addition, dampers will be
replaced using A304 stainless steel, thru hardened plate and A36 steel. There will be no liner plates
or ceramic liners used.

1. Control numbers shown in the bottom right hand corner of the drawings will be referenced
instead of the drawing number shown in the title box.

2. Provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to fabricate the chutes and dampers
shown on drawing JEA-BC08-D100 and JEA-BC09-D100 (Control #s 101463, 101476). All
chute walls shall be ½” thick through hardened steel plate. The flanges shall be 3/8” thick A36
steel. The dampers shall be ½” through hardened plate with A36 stiffeners and 304 stainless
steel pipe in lieu of using ceramic liners. The through hardened plate shall be selected from
the choices listed in the reference section of this specification.

3. Chute fabrication must conform to the manufactures’ recommendations for forming and
welding of the particular material. Fabricator shall consider the material flow pattern to
minimize weld areas in the flow path. Contact information can be found in the reference
section. All flanges shall have new 1/8” thick single-ply black rubber gasket. The gasket
shall be punched for the appropriate bolt pattern.

4. Perform shop fit up of all components to verify hole alignment.
5. Provide shop drawings for approval by JEA Engineer.
6. Provide all A307 zinc plated bolts, nuts and washers.

Construction services for CT Alarm system include but are not limited to:


• Mobilization / Demobilization
• Purchase of materials
• Removal of Old conduit, speakers, wiring, and controls for the existing alarm system.
• Installation of Conduit, wire, speakers, and controls for the new CT alarm system. This includes 4 outdoor speakers, 9 indoor speakers, 4 hazard lights, a control box in the Multi Unit Control House (M.U.C.H.) house, and a junction box in the M.U.C.H. house.

The scope of work is to perform NDE of the welds and components on the NS 3 Main Steam, Hot Reheat, and Cold 
Reheat, and Extraction Steam to FWH #3 Piping systems and NDE of the NS 3 Hot Reheat Outlet Headers, tube 
welds, and moment Restraints, and NS3 High Temp Super heater Outlet Header NDE of an existing Indication.
The NDE will be performed during the 45 day NS 3 Outage which starts on 10/28/21 and ends on 12/12/21.

1410329248 (RFQ) FY21 Purchase of Fixed Diesel Pumps for JEA Lift Stations for Resiliency

The purpose of this Request for Quote is to purchase three (3) fixed diesel pumps. The Company shall furnish three (3) self-contained, automatic standby pony pump systems as specified herein and according to established JEA Standards. The self-contained emergency system shall consist of a motor and pump unit, which shall start and stop automatically utilizing float switches in the wet well. The Company shall furnish fuel tank, sound attenuated aluminum pony pump set enclosure, and all accessories necessary for a complete and operable installation. All materials shall be new unless specifically called for otherwise. Diesel engine driven pony pump shall be of the latest commercial type and design with all necessary equipment and shall be in accordance with all applicable sections of JEA’s Water and Wastewater (W/WW) Standards.
