Main extensions will require plans submitted to the JEA Development Team by your engineer. Your engineer will walk you through the development process. Once plans are approved your contractor will install the main extension and you will dedicate the work to JEA to maintain.

In most instances you will receive a response within 10 business days of your request being submitted. If you would like to request the status of your request you can email availabilityreq@jea.com
If any of the following criteria are the reason for the new letter request, please email us to request updated letter: availabilityreq@jea.com

- Flow Change
- Always verify your sewer service location prior to abandoning your septic tank
- When you can’t find your sewer service lateral, JEA can do this for you
- JEA will send a crew out and camera the line, identify where your sewer service lateral is, and paint its location on the ground. If no sewer service is found you will be notified
- Submit Wastewater Locate Application to the water pre-service counter with payment, application found here or at counter: https://www.jea.com/Engineering_and_Construction/Water_and_Wastewater_Development/Self-Service_Center/Applications
- Locate is marked generally within 10 business days of processing the application and payment

Low pressure sewer-alternative sewer option when gravity sewer flow cannot be obtained to serve a residential customer.

- Meet to review requests for alternative water and sewer option requests
- For requests to be put on the ACC agenda please email the request, plans and reasoning/justification for request to wsedevprojrequests@jea.com
- You will be contacted by a member of the JEA development team to discuss your request
- You will be notified of the planned meeting date
- You will be provided a letter outlining the ACC’s response to your request within 5 business days following the meeting

After your project has been accepted it will be released for meters
- After your as-builts have been approved, your water and/or sewer permits have been cleared AND you have provided the JEA development team with a complete project acceptance package

- All project infrastructure must be installed
- As-builts need to be approved, an approval letter will be provide
- Permit COC applications can then be submitted with the as-built approval letter to JEA to be cleared
- JEA does not issue temporary water meters
