Traffic Alert for North Arlington Expressway Service Road

Jacksonville, FL - A contractor (JB Coxwell Contracting, Inc.) working for JEA will be required to close portions of the North Arlington Expressway Service Road for the installation of a new water main.

The contractor will be temporarily closing the east and westbound lanes along with two exit ramps of the North Arlington Expressway Service Road from Arlington Road to Townsend Boulevard.

Construction will start July 12, 2013 and is estimated to be completed by September 13, 2013.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured north to Arlington Road, to Lillian Road, Lillian Road to Lone Star Road and south on Townsend Boulevard to the North Arlington Road Expressway Service Road.

Westbound traffic will be detoured north on Townsend Boulevard to Lone Star Road, Lone Star Road to Lillian Street, Lillian Street to Arlington Road and south to the North Arlington Expressway Service Road. Please see the attached map for details.

Detours signs will be set-up to guide drivers around the construction area. Electronic message boards have been placed in advance notifying commuters of this closure.

This work is part of JEA’s Total Water Management Plan (TWMP) project, which involves building a pipeline to transfer water from the west side of the St. Johns River to the east side of the river through the Arlington area, ending near Bradley Road and Cortez Road.
