Traffic Alert for Arlington Expressway Service Road

2013-05-16

Jacksonville, FL - A contractor (JB Coxwell Contracting, Inc.) working for JEA will be required to close portions of the eastbound Arlington Expressway Service Road for milling and resurfacing. The paving work is tentatively scheduled to start Friday, May 17, 2013 at 6:30 a.m. and is scheduled to be completed by 4:30 p.m. the same day (weather permitting).

The contractor will be temporarily closing sections of the eastbound Arlington Expressway Service Road from 7850 Arlington Expressway Service Road (near Jim’s Place) to the intersection of Mill Creek Road and the Arlington Expressway Service Road.

Commuters will be detoured from the closed areas along the Arlington Expressway Service Road on to the Arlington Expressway. Detours signs will be set-up to guide drivers around the construction area. Electronic message boards have been placed in advance notifying commuters of this closure.

This work is part of JEA’s Total Water Management Plan (TWMP) project, which involves building a pipeline to transfer water from the west side of the St. Johns River to the east side of the river through the Arlington area, ending near Bradley Road and Cortez Road.
