Zammataro Promoted to Lead JEA Water/Wastewater, District Energy Systems

Jacksonville, FL - JEA has promoted Robert Zammataro to a newly created leadership role to help advance the utility's goals and objectives and to further ensure strategic alignment across the organization.
JEA is dissolving the Chief Operating Officer role and splitting management of the electric system, and the water and wastewater systems.
Zammataro takes on the role of Chief Water Systems Officer effective Monday, Jan. 13. In the position, he will oversee all operations and teams for JEA’s water/wastewater and district energy systems (DES).
Zammataro, who served as director of Water/Wastewater Planning & Development since 2019, brings more than over 27 years of industry experience. Previously, he held leadership roles with the St. Johns River Water Management District as bureau chief of district projects and construction; JEA as manager water and wastewater system planning; St. Johns County Utility Department as chief engineer of development and planning; Mittauer & Associates as project manager; and City of Green Cove Springs as director of utilities.
Interim Chief Operating Officer Ricky Erixton will assume the role of Chief Energy Systems Officer.
