JEA Customers Can Take Advantage of ENERGY STAR and WaterSense Tax Breaks

Jacksonville, FL - JEA is encouraging customers to take advantage of the ENERGY STAR and WaterSense sales tax break in Florida from September 19 to September 21, 2014 in an effort to promote energy and water efficiency, help customers lower their energy and water consumption, and reduce their electric and water bills.

Shoppers will get a sales tax break on certain ENERGY STAR and WaterSense products. ENERGY STAR products include room air conditioners, air purifiers, ceiling fans, clothes washers, clothes dryers, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, freezers, refrigerators, water heaters and swimming pool pumps. The sales tax break also applies to certain products carrying the WaterSense label for water efficiency, including bathroom sink faucets, faucet accessories, high-efficiency toilets or urinals, showerheads and weather or sensor-based irrigation controllers.

The sales tax holiday applies to the first $1,500 of the purchase price of one item. A customer is limited to one purchase of each specific type of ENERGY STAR or WaterSense product more than $500. For more information on the sales tax holiday visit myflorida.com.
