JEA Promotes Steven Selders to Chief Information Officer

cover img Jacksonville, FL (Sept. 18, 2025) – JEA has promoted veteran technology leader Steven Selders to chief information officer. Selders will report to Managing Director and CEO Vickie Cavey and will oversee the utility’s enterprise business systems, technology infrastructure and cyber security, and provide strategic leadership on new technologies to support the utility’s operations. 


“Steve has proven to be an outstanding leader for our Technology Services division throughout his tenure with JEA,” Cavey said. “Under his leadership, JEA will continue to ensure our systems remain secure, resilient, and capable of supporting technologies that drive reliable utility services.”

 

Selders has served as JEA’s interim chief information officer since July. He served as vice president of Application Delivery and Enterprise Architecture and in various technology roles at JEA for more than 16 years. He begins his new role Sept. 22. 


Selders earned an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He was a founding board member of Smart North Florida, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life in North Florida through collaboration, data coordination and smart technologies. He currently serves as the organization’s board chair.
