Traffic Alert - Liberty Street Temporary Road Closure Update
2015-03-20
Jacksonville, FL - A contractor (JB Coxwell, Inc.) working for JEA will be required to temporarily close Liberty Street from State Street to Union Street to construct a new sanitary sewer pump station.
This area was originally closed on March 12, 2015 for other construction-related activities. The work area will continue to be closed until the new sanitary sewer pump station’s estimated completion date of August 2015.
Electronic message signs have been posted notifying area commuters and residents of lane and/or road closures prior to the work. Detour signs will be set-up to guide drivers around the construction area.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) will be providing staffing and traffic control assistance during the evening work. All Emergency Medical Services (EMS) have been notified of the closure.
This work is part of the JEA State and Union Street Sewer Improvement Project. For more information on this or any other JEA construction project, please visit jea.com/construction or contact JEA Project Outreach at 665-7500.
