JEA, FSCJ Invite Drivers to Test Drive EVs at First Coast Electrathon

JEA and Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) will host a free electric vehicle (EV) car show and race at FSCJ Cecil Center on Sept. 13. The family-friendly event will offer EV test drives, an EV car show and a First Coast Electrathon Race.

 

The event allows current and prospective EVs owners to see and drive the newest cars and talk to local EV owners about what it is like to drive an electric vehicle in Jacksonville.

  • See and test drive the latest EVs, including: BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Honda, Mini, Tesla, Vinfast, Volkswagen and Volvo.
  • Meet local EV drivers and learn about the benefits of going electric.
  • Watch Electrathon drivers race around the FSCJ commercial vehicle training track.
  • Learn about JEA’s off-peak charging incentive for EV owners.
  • Learn how FSCJ is preparing Northeast Florida’s future workforce.

JEA is hosting the event along with FSCJ, First Coast Electrathon, North Florida Transportation Planning Organization and the North Florida Clean Fuels Coalition. Electrathon races feature custom-built EVs with 1kWh batteries that compete for the maximum distance traveled in one-hour.
