Customers Can Help JEA by Reducing Energy & Water Use Morning of Feb. 2

 JACKSONVILLE, FL (Feb. 1, 2026) – Extended extreme cold weather is driving higher-than-normal electricity demand across the state. While JEA’s system is performing as expected, available power supplies are limited. Customers can help reduce strain on the electric grid by conserving energy and limiting nonessential electricity use between 5 and 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2. 

During these times, JEA also is asking that customers consider conservation methods to minimize water usage. These conservation methods include reducing shower length, turning off faucets when brushing teeth and restricting usage of washing machines and dishwashers unless necessary. 

Also, to help prevent frozen pipes as temperatures drop overnight, please remember to set faucets to a slow drip, not a steady stream. If faucets run continuously, it can contribute to low water pressure across the system.
