JEA’s New Greenland Water Reclamation Facility Now Serving the Southside & St. Johns Communities

2025-02-14

Jacksonville, FL - JEA’s Greenland Water Reclamation Facility is the utility’s newest water treatment facility in Duval County in 48 years.

Construction began in March 2022 on 80 acres near E-Town. The facility is capable of treating up to 4 million gallons per day of wastewater and producing reclaimed water for 22,800 customers in E-Town and to the south along U.S. 1, within the Nocatee and Twin Creeks communities.

The facility is a $148 million investment for JEA customers and the community. A state-of-the-art odor control unit helps minimize odor from the facility.

The facility will help protect Jacksonville’s waterways and natural resources. Reclaimed water reduces discharge of treated effluent into the St. Johns River. It also helps offset groundwater withdrawal from the Floridan aquifer. And reclaimed water contains beneficial nutrients that help our lawns and plants grow.
