JEA Wraps Up Chiefs’ Military & Veteran Food And Hygiene Products Drive Challenge With Strong Final-Day Push
2025-11-21
JACKSONVILLE, FL (Nov. 21, 2025) – As the season of gratitude and giving reaches full swing, JEA is proud to conclude its Chiefs’ Military & Veteran Food and Hygiene Products Drive Challenge today—turning over all remaining donations.
From Nov.
6–21, JEA Chiefs and their departments participated in a friendly competition to collect nonperishable food and hygiene items for local families in need. Donation boxes were made available at multiple JEA facilities, including the downtown headquarters,
as well as the lobbies of the Commonwealth Service Center, Pearl Street Service Center, Southside Service Center, Westside Service Center, and the System Operation Control Center (SOC).
All donated items are being delivered directly to two of JEA’s valued community partners: Downtown Ecumenical Services Council (DESC) and LJD Jewish Family & Community Services (JFCS).
Early Success and Community Impact
In just the first two weeks of the drive, JEA employees collected more than 2,100 pounds of food and hygiene products—an extraordinary demonstration of generosity and teamwork across the organization. The response was so strong that JEA exceeded its onsite storage capacity, prompting an early pickup by JFCS last Friday to ensure those items could immediately support families in the community.
Today, as the final donations are gathered and turned over, JEA expects to exceed the already impressive totals achieved in the first half of the campaign.
A Culture of Service
"This effort reflects the very best of who we are,” said Dr. Charles E. Moreland, JEA’s chief customer experience officer. “We’re proud of our employees, grateful for our community partners, and inspired by the impact we can make together. Every can, every box, every contribution makes a difference.”
