JEA Chief Electric Systems Officer Ricky Erixton Elected Secretary-Treasurer of Florida Municipal Electric Association Board

Jacksonville, FL - JEA Chief Electric Systems Officer Ricky Erixton was elected secretary-treasurer of the Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) board of directors. The board voted on its slate of directors at its annual conference July 23 in Ponte Vedra.
“It is a great honor to serve this organization that does so much to support public power communities across the state,” Erixton said. “I’m proud to serve alongside an exceptional group of leaders who will help continue to steer Florida’s public power utilities toward further innovation, sustainability and reliability.”
Erixton has worked at JEA in multiple leadership positions for more than 30 years. He began his career as a co-op at JEA in 1989 and joined the organization in a permanent role in 1991. Erixton was named chief electric systems officer in January 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Florida and holds a NERC System Operator Certification.
“This appointment is a testament to Ricky’s professionalism, expertise and dedication to public power. His service will help further strengthen JEA and our public power communities throughout Florida,” JEA Managing Director and CEO Vickie Cavey said.
