Kim Wheeler Named JEA Vice President, Operations Support

JACKSONVILLE – JEA has promoted local utility veteran Kim Wheeler to serve in the newly created position of vice president of operations support. She will report to Chief Operating Officer Raynetta Curry Marshall.
In this role, Wheeler will lead the operation of systems and processes that support JEA’s electric, water and wastewater operations in compliance with regulatory requirements, with an eye toward ensuring future sustainability of operations. Her areas of responsibility include customer meters, air and laboratory testing, preventative maintenance, vegetation management, utility locates and asset management.
Wheeler was promoted from her role as director, preventative maintenance and contract management, after serving in several roles at JEA during the past 34 years. She previously served as manager, transmission and distribution; account executive; professional engineer (operations control center); and distribution engineer.
Wheeler is licensed by the State of Florida as a professional engineer and earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida. She assumed her new role on April 8 and will earn an annual salary of $235,000.
