Woodlawn Avenue Water Improvement Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2024-09-30
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*
*In some circumstances, extended hours and weekends may be required.
Project Objective
As part of the Galvanized Pipe Replacement Program to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, a contractor working for JEA (United Brothers Development) is working in your area to replace and upgrade portions of the water lines on Woodlawn Avenue, Osceola Street, Claude Street, Calvin Street, Clemente Drive, Lewis Street, Goodwin Street and Lime Street.
These pipes are approaching the end of their useful service lives and are being proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area. When completed, this project will provide increased water pressure, enhanced fire protection and improved system reliability.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, there will be times when roads will be temporarily closed to thru traffic while crews are installing the new water lines. Please see the overall project area map below.
Residents, businesses and business patrons will have access and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area. There will be times when driveway access is limited while crews are working directly in front of homes and businesses. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by this construction work.
Temporary Road Closure - Edison Avenue - April 15th & 16th
For the safety of crews and the general public, we will be required to temporarily close and detour traffic on Edison Avenue between Stockton Street and Claude Street while crews install the new water line. JEA encourages motorists to plan ahead for traffic delays in this area. Please see the work area map below.
Anticipated Start Date: April 15, 2024*
Estimated Completion Date: April 16, 2024*
Work Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.*
*Dates and times are highly subject to
change.
Planned Water Outages
Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48-hours prior to any planned water outages.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin soon after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
