More information will be provided to customers on the JEA connection process and grant programs through future town meetings and project mailings.
Construction Conditions
Construction occurred in the City’s streets, rights of way and easements.
Restoration of the project area will be begin soon after the pipes have been installed throughout the project area. Any existing grass, curb, gutter, driveways, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their preconstruction condition.
Connecting to the New JEA Water System
Connection to the water system will be voluntary. Additional information will be provided to customers on the JEA connection process and grant programs through a future town meeting and project mailings that will be sent upon the project’s completion.
Interested property owners will be responsible for paying all JEA connection fees, on-site plumbing costs and obtaining associated permits required to make the connection from your home to JEA’s water line located in the right-of-way. JEA will install a new water meter once connection fees are paid.

The City of Jacksonville understands that not all residents may be able to absorb the costs associated with connecting to the new JEA water system. Federal and/or State affordable housing funds are available through the City’s Housing and Community Development Division Utility Tap-In Program (UTIP).
This financial assistance is for qualified owner-occupied homeowners in the form of a deferred payment loan that pays for all the costs associated with the connection of your home to the JEA water system.
