W. 15th Street Emergency Sewer Improvement Project

Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a portion of sanitary sewer main on W. 15th Street between Pearce Street and the intersection Grunthal Street. This sewer main had reached the end of its useful service life and was replaced to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves your neighborhood. Failures to sewer mains can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction will occur in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, we will be required to temporarily close and detour traffic on W. 15th Street between Pearce Street and Wilson Street while this work is completed. Please see the work area and detour map below.
Residents and/or businesses will be provided access, and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the work area. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.
This work will not impact your JEA electric, water and/or sewer service. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by this construction work.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will typically begin 2-3 weeks after the new sewer main has been repaired, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned pre-construction condition.
