Kings Road & Cleveland Street Emergency Sewer Manhole Repair Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2020-08-21
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, due to the emergency nature of this project, weekend work and occasional extended work hours up to 11:00 p.m. will be required.
Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a failing sanitary sewer manhole located near the intersection of Kings Road and Cleveland Street. Failures to sewer manholes can potentially cause sewer back-ups and roadway issues.
This work required the removal of ground water with pump systems prior to excavation. These pump systems operated continuously during the repairs.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily close and detour traffic at the intersection of Kings Road and Cleveland Street while the work was being completed (see work area and detour map below).
Traffic along Kings Road was reduced to one lane eastbound and southbound and the intersection of Kings Road and Cleveland Street was closed.
Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the JEA crews working onsite. We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin soon after the pipes have been installed and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
