Project Objective

JEA crews are working on the second phase of a project to upgrade and replace the existing water mains on Myra Street and Green Street from Shearer Avenue to McDuff Avenue South, and on Myra Street and Green Street from McDuff Avenue South to the east dead end street adjacent to Roosevelt Boulevard.

This project also includes the installation of one (1) new fire hydrant. When completed, this project will provide increased water pressure, improved system reliability and enhanced fire protection to the area.

Construction Conditions

For the safety of our crews and the general public, Myra Street from Shearer Avenue to the end of Myra Street, and Green Street from Shearer Avenue to the end of Green Street will be temporarily closed to thru traffic while this work is being completed. Temporary road closures may also be required at the intersections when crews tie the new water main into the existing water main. Please see a map of the project area below.

Residents will be provided access to homes and permitted to drive (with caution) within the work area. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.

To complete this work, a temporary water outage will be required for customers located on Green Street from McDuff Avenue South to Shearer Avenue. This water outage will take place on Wednesday, September 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A precautionary Boil Water Advisory (BWA) may be issued following this water outage. Any customers impacted by a BWA will be notified. Learn more about water outages and advisories at jea.com/bwa

For the safety of our crews and the general public, we will also be required to temporarily close Green Street from McDuff Avenue South to Shearer Avenue while crews complete this work. Please see the work area map below.
