Northside – Circuit 415 Electric Reliability Project

Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2025-09-26
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*
*In some circumstances, extended hours and weekends may be required.
Project Objective
JEA crews will soon be working in your area to upgrade and replace the power lines and electrical equipment that serve your neighborhood. These new electric lines will have up to three times the capacity of the existing ones. We will also be replacing any outdated or deteriorating power poles along the project route, as well as installing new conductors, trip savers, and hook switches. These upgrades are designed to significantly improve both the quality and reliability of electric service in your area.
This work will take place between 6241 and 8860 Heckscher Drive. The work will occur along the Florida Department of Transportation's rights-of-way and utility easements and will not involve the individual electric meters for homes or businesses. Please see the map below for further details.
Construction Areas
This work will take place between 6241 and 8860 Heckscher Drive. The work will occur along the City of Jacksonville's rights-of-way and utility easements and will not involve the individual electric meters for homes or businesses. Please see the map below for further details.
Construction Conditions
Customers will soon notice survey activity that will include survey marks or colored flags throughout your neighborhood and yard that will help identify property lines, rights-of-way, benchmarks, and physical site conditions (sidewalks, tree locations, etc.). Any paint you observe is safe, temporary, and biodegradable. Please make every effort to avoid disturbing these markers during the survey period. The surveyors will return many times within a period of several weeks to collect more data.
Proper vegetative clearance and/or tree trimming will be required along the project route around JEA poles and facilities to allow the project to move forward.
Residents can expect large utility trucks in the area as work progresses. Prior to placement, utility poles may be dropped off or temporarily staged in the public right-of-way. Customers may experience some detours and lane closures around the work area while this work is in progress. Traffic control personnel may be utilized to help direct traffic around the construction area.
There may be times when driveways are temporarily blocked while crews are working in the immediate area. Crews will knock on doors to provide time to move vehicles prior to blocking any driveways. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.
Planned Power Outages
Customers may experience brief power outages related to this work. Advanced notification will be provided for any planned prolonged outages (lasting more than 1-hour).
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin soon after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
