E. 3rd Street Sewer Improvement Project

Project Objective
JEA crews will be replacing and upgrading the sanitary sewer line on E. 3rd Street between Evergreen Avenue and Spearing Street. This work is necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves your neighborhood. Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
Construction Areas
Construction will primarily occur in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the public, we will be required to temporarily close and detour traffic on E. 3rd Street between Evergreen Avenue and Spearing Street while this work is completed. Please see the work area map below.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
