Project Objective
As part of the Small Diameter Pipe Replacement Program to modernize hundreds of miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, JEA crews replaced and upgraded portions of the water lines on Townsend Boulevard from Alderman Road to Lone Star Road.
These pipes had approached the end of their useful service lives and were proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area. This work included the replacement of the existing water main and water services (to the existing meters near the property lines) along the project route. This project will improve water pressure and enhance the overall quality and reliability of water service in the area.
Construction Areas
Construction primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads, and easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin typically begin 2-3 weeks after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their pre-construction condition.
