Beauclerc Cove Electric Improvement Project

Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2016-03-31
This project has been completed. Below is the information provided to customers prior to the project start date.
Roads Affected
Beauclerc Cove Lane, Beauclerc Cove Road, Beaclerc Cove Place, Pickwick Drive South
Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA has completed construction to replace underground electrical lines in the Beauclerc Cove area. The primary objective for this project is to substantially reduce electric service outages experienced by our customers. When the new cables are installed, they will be placed in protective jackets called conduit, a plastic pipe designed to shelter underground cables. Once installed, the conduits will also provide for a more simple and efficient method for cable replacement in the future.
Construction Areas
The contractor will be working in the city rights of way and easements.
Construction Conditions
The conduit will be installed with a trenchless technology called horizontal directional drilling. This method significantly reduces project construction time with minimal disruption to landscaping, sidewalks, and driveways.
Planned Power Outages
Customers will be without power for approximately 1-3 hours while the new lines are switched over. The contractor will notify residents 48 hours prior to any planned outages.
Restoration of Project Area
Upon completion of the project, any existing grass, curb, gutter, driveway, or sidewalk disturbed during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
