Harts Road Sewer Pump Station Improvement Project

A contractor working for JEA (Sawcross, Inc.) is continuing work on a project to upgrade the existing sanitary sewer pump station located at 11305 Harts Road. 

The objective of this project is to build a new pump station building that will meet storm resiliency requirements, and to upgrade the station’s components to accommodate future growth in the area. Sanitary sewer pump stations are designed to collect sewage from gravity sewer mains which is then transported to our sewer treatment facilities. Once completed, this project will ensure the reliability of the sanitary sewer system that serves the area. 

During these upgrades, the facility’s odor control system has been temporarily taken offline, which may result in increased odors in the area. We are taking steps to minimize these impacts and appreciate your patience as we work to complete the project. Once completed, the upgraded system will significantly enhance odor control at the station.

Work will occur within City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements, and primarily on the pump station property. Construction will also include temporary bypass pumping systems that will be used to help move sewage during the project. These pumps will operate continuously during construction.
