Townsend Boulevard Sewer Pump Station Improvement Project

Project Objective

A contractor working for JEA (Petticoat-Schmitt) completed work on a project to upgrade the existing sanitary sewer pump station located at 3254 Townsend Boulevard. This work included replacing necessary valving and piping at the station, upgrading the electrical components of the facility, and upgrading the building’s exterior.

This project was necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves your neighborhood. Failures to sewer systems can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.

Construction Conditions

Work occurred within City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and utility easements, and on the pump station property. Construction also included a temporary bypass system, including large pumps, that were used to help move wastewater through the system while the upgrades are completed. These pumps operated continuously during construction.

This project did not impact normal JEA electric, water, or sewer service
