Project Objective

As part of the Small Diameter Pipe Replacement Project to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, a contractor working for JEA (T.G. Utility Company) replaced and upgraded the water line on portions of Leonard Circle East, Leonard Circle West, 33rd Street West, 30th Street West, Erline Drive, Charles Street, Effee Street and Lionell Street.

These pipes had approached the end of their useful service lives and were proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area. This project will provide increased water pressure, enhanced fire protection and improved system reliability.

Construction Areas

Construction primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads, and easements.

Restoration of the Project Area

Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
