Edgewood Avenue Water Improvement Project

*Dates and times are subject to change and in some circumstances, extended hours and weekends may be required. Crews will not be working on JEA holidays.
Project Objective
As part of the Galvanized Pipe Replacement Program to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, a contractor working for JEA (Calloway Contracting) is continuing working in your area to replace and upgrade portions of the water infrastructure on Edgewood Avenue near the intersections of Chenango Street, Edward Street, Lucille Road, Poinsetta Street, Pinecrest, Sunset Street, Shadow Street, Fern Street, and Columbus Street. This work is being completed ahead of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Edgewood Avenue Road Project.
The joints and valves within these sections of the water system are approaching the end of their useful service lives and must be proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, there will be times when roads and intersections will be temporarily closed to thru traffic while crews are installing the new water infrastructure. Please see the work area map below.
Residents, businesses and business patrons will have access and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area. There will be times when driveway access is limited while crews are working directly in front of homes and businesses. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site. Final restoration of the road will occur during the FDOT Road project which will start soon after JEA completes work. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by this construction work.
Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48-hours prior to any planned water outages.

Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin soon after the new water line has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
