With an average of 222 sunny days per year, Northeast Florida is the perfect climate to take advantage of solar power to heat your hot water while saving on energy costs.

  • Be a JEA residential electric customer.
  • Only customers converting from an electric water heating system qualify for the rebate. 
  • This rebate may not be combined with other incentives (tax credits, manufacturer rebates, grants, etc.) that exceed the cost of the system.
  • Solar thermal systems must be certified by the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC), operate at no less than 700 Btu/ft, be installed by qualified personnel meeting Florida Statute 489.105 (3) (o) and comply with all local building and electrical codes.

  1. Select a pre-qualified contractor. 
  2. Contractor completes the solar water heater installation.
  3. Rebate is applied to the contractor invoice, reducing your total project cost.
