W. 24th Street Water Improvement Project

As part of the Small Diameter Pipe Replacement Program to modernize hundreds of miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, JEA are working in your area to replace and upgrade portions of the water lines on W. 22nd Street, W. 23rd Street, W. 24th Street, W. 25th Street, Pullman Avenue, and Spires Avenue

These sections of water lines are approaching the end of their useful service lives and are being proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area. When completed, this project will provide increased water pressure and improved system reliability.

Residents may first notice “locate” paint marks, flags, stakes, and survey markers on the ground throughout the project area. This information will help identify property lines, rights-of-way, benchmarks, and physical site conditions (sidewalks, tree locations, etc.). Any paint you observe is safe, temporary, and biodegradable. Please make every effort to avoid disturbing these markers.

For the safety of crews and the public, portions of the road within the work areas will be temporarily closed while crews are actively working. The road will reopen at the end of each workday. Please see the work area map below.

Residents and businesses will have access and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area. There may be times when driveway access is limited while crews are working directly in front of homes and/or businesses. Crews will knock on doors to provide time to move vehicles before blocking any driveways. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.

Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48 hours prior to any planned water outages.
