State Street Water Improvement Project

Project Objective
As part of the Small Diameter Pipe Replacement Program to modernize hundreds of miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, JEA will soon begin a project in your area to replace and upgrade portions of the water lines on State Street West from Myrtle Avenue North to Eaverson Street, and on Wilcox Street from State Street West to just near Kings Road.
Construction Areas
Work will primarily occur in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements.
Construction Conditions
Residents and businesses will have access and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area. There may be times when driveway access is limited while crews are working directly in front of homes and/or businesses. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.
Planned Water Outages
Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48 hours prior to any planned water outages.
Temporary Overnight Road Closure
For the safety of our crews and the public, traffic will be temporarily closed and detoured on Myrtle Avenue North and State Street West from Kings Road to Union Street West, as well as from Brady Street to Wilcox Street. This work is being completed overnight to minimize disruption during peak traffic periods. Please see the work area map below.
