Insulation and Sealing Rebates
Inadequate insulation and air leakage are leading causes of energy waste in many homes. Luckily, JEA offers rebates for attic insulation. It is important to first seal any leaks between the attic and the inside of your home. When you install additional insulation, your house will stay more comfortable and the HVAC system will run less frequently, saving you money! Insulation is also one of the easiest home energy upgrades to make.
JEA offers rebates for blown-in loose fill fiber glass or cellulose insulation. The rebate amount is $0.20 per square foot up to a maximum rebate amount of $150. The rebate maximum will cover the first 750 square feet of installation installed to achieve R-38. The attic floor must have less than 5" (or R-15) of existing insulation in order to qualify for the rebate. Rebates are available for JEA electric customers only.
To Receive Your Rebate
Contact one of our pre-qualified contractors who will provide information on the rebate. A brochure will be provided along with an estimate. If you choose to have the work performed by the contractor, the JEA rebate will be clearly indicated on your invoice as a deduction from the total price including installation.

*JEA encourages our customers to get at least three estimates, ask for references and to review any professional you may consider hiring via the Better Business Bureau and/or the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Pre-qualification in the program requires that a contractor provide JEA with a valid contractor's license, proof of liability insurance coverage, and is then reviewed for presence on the Northeast Florida Better Business Bureau. Rebates will only be paid to contractors whom have been pre-qualified and accepted by JEA. The choice of contractor and the work scheduled is between the customer and the contractor. JEA encourages each customer to fully understand the scope of work performed by your contractor.
