JEA is committed to protecting the personal information shared with us by new and existing customers, web site visitors, suppliers, and other third parties, including vendors and potential vendors. This policy describes the privacy practices of JEA regarding information collected through use our web sites, mobile applications, and digital or electronic communications (collectively “JEA Digital Properties”). This policy contains information about what data is collected and how that information is used. By using JEA Digital Properties, you agree to JEA’s collection and use of the information provided in accordance with this policy. Information Collection and Use

JEA collects information to establish and provide services to our customers. We do not collect personal information about you through JEA Digital Properties unless you voluntarily provide it. Examples of the information we collect include:

We may disclose personal information with the U.S. Department of Energy, North American Electric Reliability Corporation, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and their designees to participate in the protection of the security of critical infrastructure and key resources and ensuring information security. The information may be shared with law enforcement authorities in accordance with applicable law both in the United States and the originating country, if applicable.

We may also share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non–personal information, such as how many customers viewed a web page. Such information would not identify you individually.

Your Choices

JEA customers may visit our website (https://www.jea.com) to sign in or to create a free account. This account allows you to create and edit personalized alerts and communications, available based on your relationship with us. JEA encourages customers to visit JEA’s Alert Preferences Center under Manage My Account to maintain these preferences.

Protecting Your Personal Information

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards and protection practices and controls to ensure the integrity of our systems and to protect your information from loss, misuse, alteration, and destruction. Such protection measures include firewalls and Secure Socket Layers (SSL) to protect and encrypt sensitive transmissions. Please be advised, however, that no security system is fail-safe and we cannot guarantee the information you provide will never be obtained by unauthorized persons.

We may contact you from time to time to provide you with useful information or updates regarding our services; however, we do not and will not at any time request any of the following information via email or through any telephone call initiated by us:

JEA has no control over those forums and, thus, is not responsible for any personal information you may choose to disclose through them. While customers who contact JEA through social media may receive follow-up communications from JEA, please be aware that JEA will never disclose, or ask for you to disclose, your non-public, personally identifying information (such as your Social Security number, bank information, etc.) through these forums.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may change or update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will change the effective date found at the top of this Privacy Policy when an update is made. We recommend that you visit this web page periodically to be kept informed regarding any changes.

Florida Public Records Law

The Florida Public Records Law provides that any records made or received by any public agency in the course of its official business are available for inspection, unless specifically exempted by the Florida Legislature.
