    Participating schools

Students in grades K through 12th are invited to create a poster depicting a water conservation idea in the Drop Savers Poster Contest.

JEA cordially invites students to participate in our 2024 "Drop Savers" poster contest. Students in Division 2 through Division 5 (grades 2nd through 12th) are encouraged to create a poster depicting a water conservation idea, in slogan form, drawing form, or both. The contest teaches elementary, middle and high school aged children about the importance of water conservation. We feel that our best opportunity to converse water is through a long-range education and awareness program, and what better way than to begin with our young people.

Postes Contest Guidelines

Posters will be designated under the following bolded categories:

Division 2: Second and Third Grade

Division 3: Fourth and Fifth Grade

Division 4: Middle School (Grades Six, Seven and Eight)

Division 5: High School (Grades Nine, Ten, Eleven and Twelve)

  • Each poster is restricted to 8.5 x 11" white paper. The drawing can be vertical or horizontal.
  • Each poster must portray a water conversation idea in a slogan, drawing, or both. Students may use crayons, paint, color pencils, or markers. No highlighters, photos, or computer graphics are permitted.
  • Students must work on posters individually, otherwise posters will be disqualified.
  • Only original artwork will be accepted (no trade-marked or copyrighted materials).
  • The entry form located on the next page must be completed and taped to the back of each poster. All information must be legible in order to qualify.

Judging (Conducted by Members of the FL Section AWWA - Region II)

  • To guarantee your school's inclusion in the poster contest, you must notify JEA's contacts (noted below) of your participation.
  • Remember that students are to create a poster depicting a water conservation idea. "Don't Pollute the Water" is a good theme but is not really water conservation.
  • Judges will rate the poster for the message, artistic ability, creativity, and originality.
  • Judges will choose a first place winners' poster from each grade division under participation during the FL Section AWWA Region II Drinking Water Competition.
  • Regional winners will have an opportunity to participate in the FL Section AWWA state-wide Drop Savers Poster Contest.

Click here to download the labels to be attached to the poster submissions.

A JEA representative will pick up the posters from the school on or before February 16, 2024. Poster submissions mailed directly to JEA or FSAWWA will result in disqualification.
