Keeping Our Community Safe With Reliable Utility Service

Coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted many area residents and continues to impact daily life in unprecedented ways. JEA is committed to providing you with the reliable energy, safe water and financial relief you need right now as we emerge from this pandemic.

Financial Relief for Customers

Customer Credits

As announced at the April 3 Special Board Meeting, JEA will issue a one-time rebate for all residential and commercial electric customers. This will arrive in the form of a credit on bills printed or posted to a customer's account on or after May 5.

Late Fees Waived

Effective March 31, any newly accrued late fees are waived until further notice. Any late fees accrued prior to March 31, 2020 still apply.

Convenience Fees Waived

Beginning April 6, JEA has waived credit and debit card convenience fees for MasterCard, Visa and Discover card payments up to $10,000 for the next six months.

Utility Disconnects for Late Payments Suspended

JEA understands these are challenging times. That’s why we’re not disconnecting electricity or water for late payments while Florida is in a state of emergency.

Downtown Customer Center Closed

Our downtown Customer Center lobby will remain closed until further notice. You can still pay your bill online, at JEA-authorized payment locations or by calling (904) 665-6000. Many other self-service options are also available through your account, such as paying your bill and reporting outages.

Keep a Proper Distance From JEA Employees

JEA has discontinued all previously scheduled home water and energy assessments, as well as in-home services that require our employees to enter your home. Renewable Energy inspections have also been discontinued. If you see JEA employees working in your neighborhood, please remember to give them space and keep a minimum distance of 6 feet from them. With proper social distancing, we’ll all get through this together. Read CDC Safety Guidelines

At JEA, safety is our most important core value, and that extends not only to our employees and customers but to everyone in our community. We want you to know we are working to ensure your safety and providing you the reliable utility solutions you expect with the service you deserve.

Going Social with JEA

As the scope of the pandemic changes in Northeast Florida, turn to JEA’s social media channels to ask your utility-related questions and get regular updates on how we’re ensuring the safety of our employees and customers. We also regularly share ways to lower your bill (especially when staying home may drive up your bill), and popular scams affecting utility customers.
