Coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted many area residents and continues to impact daily life in unprecedented ways. JEA is committed to providing you with the reliable energy, safe water and financial relief you need right now as we continue to face challenges related to the pandemic.

Financial Relief for Customers

City of Jacksonville Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program assists households unable to pay rent and utilities. An eligible household may receive assistance for rent or utilities, including up to 12 months of past-due rent and utilities (plus an additional three months if necessary, to ensure housing stability for the household, subject to the availability of funds). Households must be re-certified every three months to continue receiving assistance.

JEA will administer $5 million in utility assistance payment funds. Funding will be used to make direct payments on behalf of qualifying tenants.

JEA offers interest-free payment extensions and arrangements. If you need more time to pay your bill, apply online. If you need assistance paying your bill, there are resources available.

Keep a Proper Distance From JEA Employees 

JEA has discontinued all previously scheduled home water and energy assessments, as well as in-home services that require our employees to enter your home. Renewable Energy inspections have also been discontinued. If you see JEA employees working in your neighborhood, please remember to give them space and keep a minimum distance of 6 feet from them. Remember, only toilet paper and human waste should go down your toilet. Flushing anything else, including paper towels, can damage JEA’s wastewater system and create dangerous (and disgusting) blockages called fatbergs.
