Barnett Street Water Improvement Project

As part of the Small Diameter Pipe Replacement Program to modernize hundreds of miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, JEA will soon begin a project in your area to replace and upgrade a portion of the water line on Barnett Street between W. State Street and W. 1st Street

This section of water main is approaching the end of its useful service life and is being proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area. When completed, this project will provide increased water pressure and improved system reliability.

For the safety of crews and the public, we will be required to temporarily close Barnett Street from W. State Street to W. 1st Street while this work is being completed. The road will reopen at the end of each workday. Please see the work area map below. 

Residents and businesses will have access and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area. There may be times when driveway access is limited while crews are working directly in front of homes and/or businesses. Crews will knock on doors to provide time to move vehicles before blocking any driveways. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.

Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48 hours prior to any planned water outages.
