Antisdale Street Water Improvement Project

Project Objective
As part of the Galvanized Pipe Replacement Program to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, JEA crews are working on a project to replace and upgrade the existing water main on Antisdale Street from Ingleside Avenue to just west of Edgewood Avenue, Ingleside Avenue from Post Street to Antisdale Street, and Talbot Avenue from Post Street to Mayflower Street.
These sections of pipe have reached the end of their useful service lives and must be proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the water and sewer system that serves the neighborhood. This work will also include the installation of one (1) new fire hydrant.
When completed, this project will provide increased water pressure, improved water system reliability and enhanced fire protection to the area.
Construction Conditions
Work will primarily occur in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, we will be required to temporarily close and detour traffic around the work area while the new water lines are installed. Please see the work area map below.
Residents will have access to their homes and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.
Planned Water Outages
Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48-hours prior to any planned water outages.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin soon after the new water main has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
