Our Electric Generation Strategy
JEA’s generation capacity is approximately 3000 MWs. Our generation fleet contains a diverse resource mix that includes 60 percent natural gas in 2024; with the remaining generation (5%) comes from coal / petcoke / biomass. We also supply our energy mix with 20% Purchase Power, 10% percent nuclear power and 4% renewables (solar / methane gas). In all, about 12,800,000 MWh energy was produced for our customers in FY23.
