Billing Cycles

Ever wonder why it’s the end of the month, and you haven’t received a bill yet? That’s because of JEA’s billing cycles. A billing cycle is the elapsed time between printings of a customer’s monthly bills. When a JEA customer starts service, his/her account is assigned to one of twenty billing cycles, which are assigned based on the customer’s location. Bills are prepared for one cycle each work night. The exact number of days between bills may vary from month to month, depending on when weekends and holidays occur during the month. As a result, and unlike credit card companies, payments are not due and bills are not generated on weekends and holidays.
