Start/Transfer/Stop Service

Start Service

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to provide your electric/water/sewer service. JEA has a responsibility as a utility to adopt rules and regulations governing its relations with customers as are necessary and which are consitent with the Laws of the State of Florida and the rules and regulations of the Florida Public Service Commission. Utility service is rendered to you on a credit arrangement.  You are billed for water, sewer and/or electricity after you have used it. As a result, credit must be established by every applicant.

We can start your service any day, except Sundays and holidays. Please note that next-day service may not be available for new homes, because of installation or inspection requirements. But first, you need to request power and/or water service to a new or existing service address.

Transfer Service  

Power, check.  Water, check.  Irrigation service, check.  When moving to a new home, you always face many last-minute details.  That's why we make transferring your service one less thing to worry about.  If you're moving from one residence in our service territory to another, all you need to do is complete this request and we'll take care of the rest.

An Account Establishment Charge is required and will be applied to your first bill at your new home.

Stop Service

Whether you've been our customer for a year or a decade, thank you for the opportunity to serve you.  To stop your service, you will need to give us at least three days' notice.  Turn-off service is available Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays.

If you made a deposit, we'll apply it to your final bill. And if there's a credit, we'll mail it to the forwarding address you provide in your request.
