L’Engle Street Water Improvement Project

As part of the Small Diameter Pipe Replacement Project to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system. JEA crews are working in your area to upgrade and replace portions of the water main on W. 4th Street, W. 3rd Street, W. 5th Street, W.6th Street, Wall Street, L’Engle Street, and Hardee Street.

These sections of water main have approached the end of their useful service lives and are being replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area. This work also includes the installation of eight (8) new fire hydrants. When completed, this project will provide increased water pressure, enhanced fire protection, and improved system reliability.

To ensure safe excavation, a dewatering system will be required to remove groundwater. The dewatering system will operate continuously until work in the area is complete.

Residents and/or businesses will be provided access to their driveways and will be permitted to drive (with caution) around the work area. There may be times when driveways are temporarily blocked while crews are working directly in front of homes or businesses. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.

This work will not impact your normal JEA electric, water, or sewer service.
