Greenhouse gas emissions come from many sources, including primarily transportation, power generation and industry.
JEA burns primarily four types of fossil fuels—coal, petroleum coke, natural gas and oil—to generate electricity.
Other minor sources of greenhouse gas emissions include methane from wastewater processing, carbon dioxide from fleet vehicles, and sulfur hexafluoride from the electric and transmission and distribution system. Specific emissions data is available from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
