Prevention (P2) is the application of methods to reduce or prevent the creation
of wastes at their source. Pollution prevention methods identify and/or use
environmentally friendly alternative processes or materials wherever possible to
reduce wastes. These wastes typically cannot be recycled, reused or could be
harmful to human health and the environment. There are many ways P2 can be
implemented in businesses.
