Water for Everyone –
Now and in the Future.
JEA has developed an Integrated Water Resource Plan (IWRP), which looks at how we can effectively and efficiently manage our water resources to benefit everyone while protecting the environment.
As a municipally owned utility, we are not subject to the same state regulations as investor-owned utilities. We are, however, regulated in certain areas of environmental and health matters, power plant location, electric safety and electric rate structure matters.
Our governing body is made up of a seven-member Board of Directors appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Our Board of Directors appoints a CEO who then selects the top tier of management referred to as the Senior Leadership Team.
JEA Board Meetings are normally held on the third Tuesday of each month in the 8th floor Board Room of JEA and are open to the public. Meeting dates, times and locations will be announced the week before the meeting and are subject to change.
Recordings of Board Meetings will be made available within 48 hours of the event.
JEA’s Government Relations is responsible for managing local, state and federal legislative and regulatory issues that may have the potential to impact JEA interests and operations.
