JEA ShopSmart Program Offers Attic Insulation
Jacksonville, FL - For a limited time, JEA is increasing the maximum rebate amount on attic insulation from $150 to $300. For homes with less than 5" or less than R-15 insulation, an R-38 level of blown-in insulation will be installed with a rebate of $0.30 per square foot, up to a maximum limit of $300.
This special offer is available now through August 15, 2013.
JEA’s ShopSmart program encourages JEA customers to be smart energy shoppers. Helping customers become more aware of what they can do to control their energy use saves them money each month on their utility bill.
Since it was launched in July 2008 more than 40,493 rebates have been distributed to 19,700 customers for Home Energy Upgrades, including HVAC replacements, attic insulation, duct sealing and window tinting or solar screens.
Close to 3.6 million compact fluorescent light bulbs have been purchased using the rebate and 31,407 appliances have been purchased.
Through JEA’s Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program, more than 4,676 homes have received energy efficiency serves and 1,077 homes have been insulated.
JEA is the seventh-largest community-owned electric utility in the United States and one of the largest water and sewer utilities in the nation providing electric, water and sewer service to residents and businesses in northeast Florida.
