JEA Board Meeting Now Streamed Live
Jacksonville, FL - Beginning Tuesday, January 15, JEA is offering live streaming of its monthly board meeting. This new access to the board meetings will allow those JEA customers who would not otherwise attend personally, a way to find out how the utility is performing and what it is doing to improve.
The board meeting can be accessed through jea.com. It begins at 9:30 a.m.
This month customers can learn about a program that helps kids develop their math and science skills. And hear about a new energy and water management tool – My JEA Utility Tracker – which will be rolled out to customers in the coming months.
JEA board meetings are open to the public. The board meets on the third Tuesday of each month. The meetings take place in the 8th floor JEA board room at 21 West Church Street.
JEA’s governing board is made up of a seven-member Board of Directors appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Current members are: Ashton Hudson, Chair; Mike Hightower, Vice Chair; Cynthia Austin, Secretary; Ron Townsend, Lisa Strange Weatherby, Helen Heim Albee and Peter Bower.
JEA is the seventh-largest community-owned electric utility in the United States and one of the largest water and sewer utilities in the nation providing electric, water and sewer service to residents and businesses in northeast Florida.
