JEA’s Cybersecurity Efforts Receive National Recognition
JACKSONVILLE - JEA's efforts to protect the electric grid from cyberattacks received national recognition recently, when the Center for Digital Government honored JEA with an award for cybersecurity innovation.
Presented in October 2017 at McAfee's MPOWER Cybersecurity Summit in Las Vegas, the Cybersecurity Leadership and Innovation Award honored JEA for developing and implementing a special shut-off capability for its Emergency Management System that blocks any external attempts to penetrate and interfere with the electric grid's operations. JEA was one of only a dozen municipal, state and health care entities nationwide to be recognized at the conference with a cybersecurity innovation award.
