MyBudget Plan
Would you like to eliminate the high utility bills that usually occur in the cold of winter and heat of summer? If so, enroll now in MyBudget for a more consistent monthly JEA bill.

JEA’s MyBudget Plan helps even out the highs and lows most customers experience in their bill during the year due to their utility usage patterns. For example:

  • In the summer when lawns are irrigated more frequently and high temperatures cause air conditioning units to run longer.

  • In the winter when cold weather causes heat pumps to kick on their auxiliary heat strips in order to raise indoor temperatures.

  • Any time of year when you use more electricity and water, such as when you have guests staying in your home increasing the number of daily showers, loads of laundry, etc..

How does MyBudget work?

  • Once enrolled in MyBudget, your amount due each month will be an average based upon your preceding 12 months of utility usage.

  • Every month, your average will be recalculated based upon the last 12 months of usage.

  • Your bill will not be exactly the same each month, it will vary far less than your bill does when it is not averaged.

  • JEA will continue to read your meter each month.

  • Your bill will always show the details of your actual charges and consumption for the billing period.

  • Once enrolled, to stay in MyBudget, you must pay the bill by the due date each month. Payment arrangements are not permitted or if your internal credit score in JEA is affected you will be removed from the program.

Do I have to qualify to participate in MyBudget?
Yes. To be eligible to participate:

  • Your JEA account must be current and have a good standing credit record with JEA.
  • You must have at least three months of active service.

Representatives in JEA's call center are available Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. and on Saturday, 8 a.m. - noon.

Note: You may be removed from MyBudget if:

  • You do not meet the eligibility requirements,
  • You make a payment arrangement,
  • Your JEA credit score drops below 850, or
  • You do not pay your bill by the due date each month.
