Heating and Cooling
SmartShop.jpg

Your home’s central heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC) is responsible for nearly 50 percent of the energy consumed in your home according to ENERGYSTAR®. That’s why energy-efficient choices can mean big savings on your monthly energy bill.

Shopsmart with JEA
offers homeowners discounts on the purchase of a new HVAC system, if you are in the market to upgrade to a more energy-efficient unit.

Benefits of HVAC Maintenance

  • Maintaining HVAC equipment prevents future problems and unwanted costs.
  • Coils are cleaned. Dirty coils reduce your system's ability to cool and cause the system to run longer, increasing energy costs and reducing the life of the equipment.
  • Refrigerant is checked and adjusted if necessary. Too much or too little will make your system less efficient increasing energy costs and reducing the life of the equipment.
  • The blower is cleaned and adjusted. Improper airflow can reduce your system's efficiency by up to 15 percent.

To receive your ShopSmart with JEA rebate:

  1. Contact one of our pre-qualified contractors who will provide an in-home consultation.
  2. If you decide to move forward and have the work done on your home, present the pre-qualified contractor with the coupon in this brochure
  3. The JEA rebate will be clearly indicated on your invoice as a deduction from the total price including installation.  JEA encourages our customers to get three estimates from pre-qualified contractors before making your final decision.
  4. "Pre-qualified" means JEA has obtained a copy of each contractor's license and insurance and has checked the contractor's history with the Better Business Bureau. The choice of contractor and the work completed is between you and your contractor. JEA encourages each customer to fully understand all work being proposed and performed by your contractor.
