Incentives

There are many incentives out there for energy efficiency and renewable energy. The two types of incentives are rebates and tax credits. A rebate is money you get back while a tax credit is a reduction in the taxes you will owe. A great list of incentives available can be found online at www.dsireusa.org.

Rebates
JEA offers three programs:

City of Jacksonville program:

  • In addition to JEA’s programs, the City of Jacksonville offers a $1000 rebate for full green building certification. To request more information or receive the rebate application, contact Christi Veleta via email at VELETA@coj.net
State of Florida programs:

  • Information on renewable energy system rebates from the state can be found online here.

Tax Credits
Tax credits are available for residential and commercial buildings, new and existing construction. A good breakdown of available credits can be found online on these sites:
